IT BEGINS WITH BILLET STEEL
The foundation of every Alpha American pistol begins with high quality billet steel components machined in the United States.
Rather than producing parts that simply drop together on an assembly line, our components are machined slightly oversized. This allows our gunsmiths to carefully hand-fit each critical interface of the firearm during assembly.
This approach takes more time, but it allows us to achieve a level of fit and attention to detail that can’t be replicated through mass production.
PRECISION HAND FITTING
The hallmark of a premium double-stack 1911 is how the components work together. During assembly, our experienced gunsmiths carefully tune the critical areas of the pistol, including:
Slide to Frame Fit
Barrel Hood & Lockup
Trigger Geometry & Pull Weight
Extractor Tension & Reliability
Safties & Controls

Each component is carefully deburred, refined, and inspected to remove machining marks and ensure a clean surface for finishing. This level of preparation requires additional time, but plays an important role in both appearance and feel of the firearm.
Many modern double-stack firearms move from machining to finishing with minimal surface refinement. At AAF we take additional steps to be sure the firearm is prepped properly.
Our team also hand bevels key edges of the pistol, softening sharp transitions and refining the overall profile. This process enhances both comfort and aesthetic while giving the firearm a clean, finished look that shooters and collectors expect.
